ASC STRUCTURE AND AGE GROUPS

ASC Program
The Abington Soccer Club United Program focuses on the individual development of well-rounded soccer players with a proven curriculum based on national and international training methods. United players will be registered with EPYSA and participate in local or regional leagues and tournaments. The United program is designed for players that want to compete in the state and tri-state area. When sufficient players are available to create multiple teams per age group, ASC may also offer a Strikers program.

Level 1 - U9-U10
Level 1 has a motor skill development and technical emphasis that is accomplished by focusing on player development versus match outcome.  Training at this level focuses on the individual development of well-rounded soccer players with a proven curriculum based on national and international training methods.  The intent is for coaches, administrators and parents of the players to spotlight the process of playing the game, rather than the score. The measurement of success in level 1 is the players’ improvement of ball skills, understanding of the rules of the game, playing fairly and learning general game principles.

Level 2 - U11-U14

In level 2 the emphasis is on the club culture and daily training atmosphere. Players will learn how to train. Added focus during training sessions is for players to learn the details of tactics, team formations and game strategies. The focus in level 2 will be on training sessions and playing matches at an appropriate level of competition.

Level 3 - U15-U19
At level 3, players will cultivate a deeper understanding developing tactics, team formations, and strategies with an emphasis of giving players the knowledge to self evaluate. Players will be given the opportunity to fine tune their skills to be able to compete on high school and college teams.
